Today's Backyard Garden

The pansies are beginning to bloom! This was the first. This would be a good sample file for me to practice how to crop an irregular image. My plan is to clip the image around the rim of the white pot.

Today's Baked Good was banana bread. It had flaked coconut and slivered almonds. The crust had a puzzling saltiness, so I trimmed off the crust before serving. It is unclear to me whether it was the salt or possibly the baking powder. This is another topic to review in my baking chemistry text.
